Purposefully Small
Founded in 1874 by Henry Montagu Draper, Lockers Park was among the earliest purpose-built preparatory schools in the country, set in Hertfordshire parkland near Hemel Hempstead. Purposefully small and family-minded, it is devoted to the formative education of boys, with a values-led culture built on character, scholarship, and opportunity. In 2026 the school became part of the Harrow family of schools, while continuing on its own site under its own name, uniform, and distinctive ethos.

Admissions Essentials
Boys join Lockers Park at a range of ages, most commonly into the lower years and continuing through to Year 8. Prospective pupils attend a taster day, designed to assess academic readiness and overall fit with the school, and most boys move on to their senior schools at the end of Year 8. Scholarships are available across a range of categories for boys in the upper years.
